Pastrana Rallies The Crowds

So today we loaded up the Expedition and headed out to Hood River, OR to hopefully get another chance to see Travis Pastrana (our son missed the opportunity the other day). Not only did we get to see him but we also got to see Dave Mirra as well. A few autographs were received, a few pics were taken and then we headed out to the top of Fir Mountain to catch the Oregon Trail Rally action first hand. This was the viewing location for leg 10 of today’s race.

We were not disappointed! Even though each car comes through in about 5-8 seconds, it is a total rush watching them. Rocks are being thrown everywhere, they are sliding all over the logging road and traveling at speeds that are unheard of in this terrain. Tomorrow is the last day of racing, so head out to Hood River and check it out.

Enough writing, time for some photos…

and as always, the sunset was gorgeous along the amazing Columbia River Gorge… (Don’t worry, this photo was taken by my wife. I had both hands on the wheel)
