Getaway Sunday: Fiji

Fiji? Really Dale? Fiji?

Yep, Fiji. I just turned around and asked my lovely bride Bridget where she’d like to go and she said, Fiji. So, let’s get away today to the South Pacific island of Fiji. No, we’ve never been to Fiji. We’ve never been anywhere close to Fiji. It is nestled between Vanuatu and the Kingdom of Tonga.

Fiji is made up of 322 islands! That’s a lot of places to visit. Of those 322 islands only 106 are inhabited. I think it would be fun to visit one that isn’t inhabited. ;) Not sure how difficult it would be to get to an uninhabited island but since we are pretending, it should be pretty easy. Since we haven’t been here, I’ll have to rely upon my friends in the Flickr world to help me out with some photos. Let’s see what we can find!

~Welcome to Fiji~

Thanks to Light Knight for this amazing sunset!

Thanks to prgibbs for this gorgeous island shot.

I now see why my wife said she’d like to go here. This place is beautiful! I digress, let’s continue with the photos.

Thank you to Kinho Pizzato for taking the pic of the place I’d love to stay in Fiji! Wow!

Thanks to conceptDawg for this stunning photo. I want to walk along this beach all day and all night long…

Until I get to actually go to Fiji, this post will have to do. Have you been? I’d love to hear your thoughts and memories in the comments. Please share!

  2. Years ago AM Northwest gave away a trip to Turtle Island – and I was hooked…. I still remember watching to see if I won… no such luck – although I think that was about 20 years ago – I still remember falling in love with the place from afar – someday I will go…. Bridget – you can come along if you have not been by then :)
