Getaway Sunday: Fiddler On The Roof

Today is Sunday and Sunday’s are for getting away. Recharging. Relaxing. Getting refreshed.

Part of getting refreshed & recharged for me is musical theater. I’ve spoken about this before and if you know me, you know I love musical theater (if only I had been blessed with the ability to sing). :(

My mom and I are season ticket holders for Broadway in Portland and have done this for a long time. The newest season kicked off this week with Fiddler On The Roof. Tonight is our show. I’m very excited about getting to see this. What is extra special about this particular tour is we get to see Chaim Topol!!! Yes, the one and only Topol is on his farewell tour as Tevye. We get to witness a legend live on stage performing to a sold out show.

Here is a taste of Topol performing If I Were A Rich Man from his 1971 movie appearance. He won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Oscar for this performance.

If you’ll excuse me, it’s time to get ready to head to the show. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and tomorrow we’ll look at some more market statistics here in Clark County, WA.

Oh c'mon. I'm not hearing it about not being "blessed with the ability to sing". Sure you are. If you want to sing…sing! :) AND enjoy the show. Sounds like a great time.
