Day 103 of 365…

Clark County Veterans War MemorialWith it being Memorial Day weekend I thought what better time to share about the Clark County Veterans War Memorial. This memorial is dedicated in memory of those who died in the defense of our Country and this is the weekend to pay special tribute to them. We have two local events taking place tomorrow that might be of interest. I’d recommend heading down and doing both of them.

Memorial Day 1860s Cannon Salute
Monday, May 31, 2010 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM
Location: Parade Ground
Memorial Day was established to honor our nation’s men and women of the United States armed forces who gave their lives while in service. A military salute of arms is a Memorial Day tradition, and at Fort Vancouver, visitors will experience an 1860s-era weapons salute. The black powder demonstration will take place on the Parade Ground across from the General O.O. Howard House.

Both of these events are FREE of charge and a great way to spend a little time as a community paying tribute to our Veterans. Why not head down to the Fort Vancouver Historic Reserve and experience this.

To my dear “brother” Robb, I miss you…
