Day 281 of 365…

ReGifting Store in Vancouver WAAs we gear up for the Christmas season I thought highlighting our local ReGifting Store would be a great thing. This store provides such a wonderful gift to our community they need to have more people know about them. Tucked away in Vancouver Heights you’ll find this store that is all about giving to our community. They are a non-profit 501 (c) (3) that wholly exists to give back.

This is a great place to bring in your new or gently used items. They will either get sold and the money will go to help those in need in our community or the items will get distributed throughout the community where they will be best used. Everyone who works here does so as a volunteer so that 100% of the stores proceeds can go out and make peoples lives better.

The Mission of the ReGifting Store is…

Hope is not in the air, in the trees or water. It is not in the books we read or the buildings we build. Hope is in us. That is where hope dwells, and if we do not give hope whenever we have the opportunity hope will die.

Our mission is to make the ReGifting Store a place where people can donate material things to be resold and given to local needs in our community. We want to shine the light of men into dark places. We do not need groups or organizations to love the hopeless, we just need our neighbors, above all things love one another.

Every single person who donates, shops, volunteers, or passes the word on, is making a difference.

With the holiday season here the ReGifting Store is doing a few awesome things to really give back. First they have their Adopt-A-Stocking program. You go in and get a stocking, fill it with goodies and gifts and bring it back into the store by December 10th and it will be given to a boy, girl or family in need. They also are doing the Children’s Christmas Fund Ornament program. For every $1 you donate you can take home one of the ornaments hanging from the ceiling.

Below is a calendar of events that we as the community can help out with:
November 26th -December 18th: Christmas tree sales (Portion of the proceeds goes to the community buy a tree for a family)
Every weekend from November 26th, 27th and 28th through December 17th, 18th there will be festivities, music, local choirs and bands and a special performance by 2001 song writer of the year Winner Korry Holtzlander plus hot chocolate, cider and coffee.
