I mentioned several weeks back that Tom Festival was coming up right away. Guess what? TODAY is the day! It’s not too late, you can still get passes at the gate. I’m getting ready to head out to see the first bands of the event. I’ll be there off and on over the next few days (mostly in the evening and late night). Our son always goes with me and this year our daughter wants to go too. I’m very excited she wants to come.

I’m excited to get to see Joy Electric tomorrow night. They always put on a great show.

Falling Up is another highlight for tomorrow PLUS I can’t forget Tragedy Ann! They’re always a hit!

Did I mention that Brian “HEAD” Welch will be playing on Friday night? This show is not to be missed. In case you didn’t know, Brian was one of the founding members of Korn. Brian has had quite the conversion in his life and you can come out and hear his story plus check out his new music. I’m looking forward to hearing him.

In a little over a month over 130 bands will descend upon the Camas, WA area of Clark County. Yes, this huge music festival will consume 4 days with tons of fun and music. Curious what Tom Fest is? Here is a quick little bio all about Tom Festival taken directly from their site. Make sure to mark your calendars for August 19th – 22nd, 2009.

2009 will mark Tom Fest’s 14th year as the Nation’s forefront Christian indie-music festival. Each year we showcase well over 100 130 national and regional bands over 4 days on 4 stages, and 2009 will be even better- from acoustic to hardcore, indie-pop to punk rock, and everything in-between!

Tom Festival is also more than just music! There are many different ‘environments’ that you can be a part of – from our lounge tent to our mini-movie theater, our karaoke cafe to the Guitar Center jam tent, and much more.

This year (like every year) features a stellar line up of artists coming to play in little ol’ Camas. The fest takes place at the Lacamas Conference Center. You can go out for each day or you can camp out on site and really soak up all four days. The full fest passes are still discounted for another week so don’t delay in getting them. Group discounts are available as well if you have a youth group or bunch of friends who want to sign up together. You can get this information at the ticket page as well.
