FINALLY! A warm & sunny day! I thought it would never happen.

After spending some time roaming around Vancouver Farmers Market I thought what a perfect day to head out and capture our very own Vancouver Lake Park.

This beautiful 234 acre park sits on the far west side of Vancouver Lake and offers a ton of different things to do. There is huge amounts of open grassy areas to play Frisbee or kick a ball or just run around and play. There is sand volleyball and the lake offers swimming areas plus windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing! See for yourself how beautiful it is…

Mt Hood smiles from the east…

Mt St Helens peeks out from the north…

Vancouver Lake Park is located at 6801 NW Lower River Road, Vancouver, WA 98660. You’ll head west on Fourth Plain or Mill Plain and drive west until you get to the entrance to the park. There is a small fee to park but it’s worth it to spend a day playing and enjoying this beautiful area.

Today I’ll be sharing a beautiful place in town. Just east of Vancouver on the northern part of Camas is Lacamas Lake. This lake is beautiful. Rather than rambling about it I’d much rather show you some photos. Then I’ll encourage you to head out and explore it for yourself. You can drive all the way around it and there are many places you can stop and look and even do some things. I’ll cover some of those things in future posts. I’ll bet you’ll even find some yourself when you adventure out…

Day 97 of 365…

Looking for a beautiful trail on the West side of Vancouver? If so, you need to check out the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail that follows Salmon Creek. This trail is absolutely gorgeous. The meandering trail hugs up against Salmon Creek off and on over it’s 3 mile length. The trail is a paved 10′ wide path that is perfect for running, walking, biking, roller blading and hiking. It also is set up for equestrian use if that is your desire.

The Salmon Creek Greenway Trail runs between NW 36th Avenue and the Salmon Creek Regional Park/Klineline Pond with parking on both ends of the trail. I’d really recommend heading out there to enjoy a stroll. It really is beautiful.

Today is Sunday and that is a day to get away from it all. A day to enjoy and be somewhere else. It’s not always possible to actually get away from home, but you can always imagine. That’s where this regular Sunday post comes in handy. I love to share places I’ve been and love or share places I’d love to go someday.

Today I’ve been thinking about the Fountains of Bellagio. Yes, I’ve written about Vegas on a Getaway Sunday post before. But today I want to focus on the Fountains of Bellagio. I have seen countless shows in front of the Bellagio while on many different trips to the “other” Clark County. I’ve seen it during the day and during the night. No matter when you see this show it’s magical but in the dark of the night it has a certain something special about it.

According to their own website:

the Fountains of Bellagio were destined to romance your senses

and romance they do. Here is the video I shot from the last time I was there. It is difficult to capture the magnitude of the emotion and intensity of the show. I hope you enjoy this.

Pretty special huh? I’d highly recommend you stop in several different times next time you’re in Vegas. They are always playing different songs with the show and each one is special in its own way. I’ll now leave you with a few photo’s from the Fountains of Bellagio…
