Day 121 of 365…
I love this “job”. Getting out and exploring and discovering new places here in Vancouver (AND surrounding areas). Today I had the fortune to meet with a friend at a new restaurant in town. Fireside Cafe opened about three weeks ago and is off to a very good start!
The atmosphere is very warm, inviting and comfortable. You’ll find small tables for close, intimate meetings. You’ll find larger tables to gather groups of friends together to share fun times and good food and drinks. You’ll also find a few couches nestled next to the large river rock fireplace to sip your coffee or tea, glass of wine with some dessert or maybe some locally made Gelato. You can also enjoy (and purchase) the local artists works that adorn the walls.
They have wonderful menu that actually lives on a massive chalkboard above the main counter. You’ll find things like pizza, wings, brats, amazing looking mac-n-cheese, baked goods, sandwiches, sliders, soups, coffee, teas, wines, tons of micro-brews and more. I had the Mandarin Almond Salad with Chicken and it was awesome. I had the Asian dressing on it. They had a white cheddar beer soup today that sounded awesome. They also had a special of the day that was Stuffed Bell Peppers. If I hadn’t already ordered my salad I probably would have ordered them because they looked awesome (thank you to the kind women who let me take a photo). :)
This new restaurant has all the makings to last here in Vancouver. They are also starting to do happy hour which is great for that stop after a long day at the office or in the field. I’d recommend watching their Facebook page for specials of the day and evening happy hour specials too.
Next weekend they will be having a Grand Opening Party! You’ll find:
-Friday and Saturday, June 25th-26th
-Live music both evenings
-Local jazz duo “In Good Measure” will play Friday night from 7-10PM
-Open until 1AM
Fireside Cafe is located at 6709 NE 63rd Street, Vancouver, WA 98661 and can be reached at 360-314-4301. You really need to go check these guys out. I think you’ll find a new fun, good eats place to hang out. They’re also open late which is lacking in this area of town.
