Can you believe the number of wonderful days we had in March! Crystal clear blue skies and upper/mid 60’s! I know, the rain certainly reminds us that we are still in Clark County but boy were the sunny days nice. Sunroofs open, convertible tops down, walks in the park.

My first “Walk In The Park” for 2007 took place at Esther Short Park in our own Downtown Vancouver. It is truly amazing how much it has changed. The City (with the help of some wonderful donations) has made this a great place to sit and enjoy a meal, listen to a concert and watch children laughing and playing in the playground.

If you show up at the right time you can enjoy the Salmon Run Bell Tower as it tells the story of the Chinook Tribal legend.

Or maybe you would like to enjoy a theater production. If that is what you desire, The Slocum House Theatre Company has shows running throughout the year. If you’ve never been in the Slocum House you need to check it out.

Energy and vitality are happening downtown. From all around the park you can see evidence of this. Shops are open, restaurants have people in them. There are new places to live and new buildings are popping up.

Here is a shot of the new home for The Columbian newspaper. It is going to be a very nice addition to the new development downtown.

Now it is time to get out there and enjoy the sun and take “A Walk In The Park”!
