Day 123 of 365…
Growing up I spent many summer days playing at Cascade Park. It was close to home and provided hours of fun for all of us kids. They had the coolest play structure in all of east Vancouver. It was like a fortress. Huge wooden beams with all sorts of things to climb on and play on. I remember we’d play tag where you couldn’t leave the structure. It was always a bit crazy. We never minded the huge splinters and missing skin. ;)
Now the play structure is much safer and the park is just as quaint. It is a lovely 5 acre community park that has two play structures, a trail around it, a huge open grassy area plus quite a few picnic tables. There is also a ton of beautiful trees that provide a nice shade if you want to get out of the heat plus wide open areas if you want to get cooked. We’ve met with different friends over the years and had wonderful times playing, visiting and eating.
Cascade Park is just north of McGillivray Blvd at 13003 SE 7th Street (you can also park on SE Laver Street & SE 127th Avenue), Vancouver, WA 98683.
