Day 126 of 365…
Did you know that there is a new branch of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library located just north of Cascade Park? That’s right, the Cascade Park Community Library is open for business. This new location opened December of 2009 and boasts almost 25,000 square feet of space. That is a significant increase over the old Hearthwood location of 2,500 square feet.
Inside you’ll discover the Friends’ book store where you can purchase slightly used books for $.50 and $1.00. There is a huge kids area and a teen area as well. You’ll also find 28 Internet stations for public usage. All this plus tons of books and magazines for your reading enjoyment. The atmosphere inside this new library is wonderful with all the large windows that look out to the forested area and the fireplace inside gives it a homey feel.
Cascade Park Community Library is located at 600 NE 136th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98684 and can be reached at 360-256-7782. This is right next to Firstenburg Community Center. They are open Tuesday through Thursday from 9AM to 8PM and Friday and Saturday from 9AM to 6PM. Keep in mind they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. You can also become a fan of their Facebook page.
