People from around the country have been watching the news and seeing the devastation that has happened from the floods in Washington and Oregon. Thankfully, Clark County was left relatively unscathed from the recent deluge that hit the Northwest. But other areas weren’t so lucky. The communities of Centralia and Chehalis, an hour to our north, were under a great deal of water. Columbia and Clatsop Counties in Oregon were very hard hit and suffered a lot of damage. Families without flood insurance will take the hardest hit. The great thing is that we can help.

The Red Cross is requesting donations to help the flood victims. You can make donations online. Instructions for making donations are on that Website, including the address for sending a check. You can target your donation to “Oregon Floods” or “Washington Floods”. You can also donate by calling the Oregon Trail Chapter of the Red Cross at (503) 284-1234.
